셀 수 있는 명사로 단수 취급

1. (둘 중) 어느 하나의
   • You can park on either side of the street.
2. 양쪽의
   • There is a long room with a door at either end.

대명사

주어로 쓰일 경우 보통 단수 동사와 함께 사용되지만, 구어체에서 복수동사가 쓰이기도 한다.

   • Olive oil and corn oil are both suitable, so you could use either.
   •  Is either of them at home?
   • Are either of them at home?
2. 양쪽의
   • Does either of you speak Chinese?

부사

1. (부정문) 역시, ~또한

• Pete can't go and I can't either.
• Jackie could play the piano and sing, whereas I couldn't do either.

2. (정보를 덧붙일 때) 게다가, ~도

• I know a good Italian restaurant. It's not far from here, either.

• I think she's either Russian or Polish.
